Sixteenth Streets HIV Department provides a comprehensive approach that partners HIV prevention work with HIV care and treatment. Our seamless approach includes health care and treatment, supportive case management and prevention education for Milwaukees Latino population. Most members of the HIV staff are bilingual in English and Spanish and fully sensitive to the cultural issues surrounding HIV.
There are two aspects to our services:
Prevention and Testing (Outreach, Counseling, Testing & Referral & Needle Exchange)
Medical Care and Treatment
Sixteenth Streets HIV Departments uses outreach to "meet people were they are at" and engage them in services on an individual, group and at times community based level. HIV medical services are offered within the patients medical home, keeping patients integrated and engaged in care rather than testing a persons with HIV/AIDS and then sending them out of their community for service. As their medical home, our team of dedicated individuals treats our patients with the utmost expertise and compassion.
